Selection from Zelda .  Due to the jazz band's selection for perform at the Western International Band Conference (Bandworld), the marching band was not able to perform at the State Festival.  The only rating received up until this point...

ASU Band Day: Superior Rating.

The return the State Marching Festival competetion.This was the first year the district and school asked to move the marching band to a volunteer only activity.  Although the students were worried at first, this band was one of only a few number of bands to receive Superior ratings for the  entire season. At the state festival, the band took home the coveted Superior with Distinction Rating.

Unfortunately, there is no available video footage from this year.  The recording was the first full run of the show for an audience. Eventually, the band finished 1st at the Gilbert Invitational as rankings were allowed in Arizona for a trial run (and not accepted until 2009).
